The next generation of digital media will be remote, social, interactive, and live! We are building its platform. Adventure Lab is where audiences will find and launch into interactive adventures guided by live actors, who can set their own showtimes, host from anywhere using a consumer VR headset like the Quest 2. The audience participates via laptop, PC, tablet, or VR - that’s over 3 billion devices!

Adventure Lab was founded by creative innovation leaders, magic makers, and veterans of Pixar, Google, Facebook, and Oculus Story Studio.

VR Host & Game Master

Contract Position

We are in the early days of running our first 45-minute adventure called "Dr. Crumb's School for Disobedient Pets" and we're looking for people who would love to be a virtual host. As a host, you can make money leading our players as an immersive performer, and game guide all from the comfort of your home.

We're looking for people with experience in improv acting, immersive theater, escape room clue mastering, and D&D game masters.

The host moves around the environment and talks to the players, providing narrative, instruction, and hints when necessary. The host also has the power to manipulate the environment (open doors, change music, turn on and off bad guys, etc.), as well as corral the players with the monitoring tools.

We are looking for:

  • Vocal training

  • Technological aptitude or willingness to figure out uncharted territory in VR

  • Physical/technological prowess in being able to figure out how to move in VR and embody a virtual character.

  • Immersive performance skills focused on crafting audience experience, ability to be present and responsive to players, holding a wireframe of story and script while also being able to ad-lib within the context of the story.

  • Work would be remote and paid per gig to start.

  • Must have access to a VR device (ideally a Quest 1 or 2), good internet, and a quiet place.
